Classroom Supports

Looking for supports to get you started?

These lessons can help students to spark their creativity and tap into their inner artists! Students will be encouraged to explore the things that make them unique and reflect on the characteristics, likes, and dislikes that define them. In other activities, they'll think about the evolution of self expression by observing and interpreting the work of other artists. By the time they're done, it is our hope that students will be excited to represent who they are in a doodle.
A BIG thank-you to Google for inspiring all of us closet doodlers out there!
FACT: Did you know that Google Doodler is an official job title and that they hire many of them? Check out the Inspire, Create and Collaborate videos below with your class!
FACT: Did you know that Google regularly sponsors a Doodle 4 Google event...but only for residents of the U.S.A? Well, we decided to bring it north and create our own event.
So...what are you waiting for? Show us your doodles SCDSB!

Doodle Inspiration:

Once students have started thinking about what makes them unique, they can watch this three-part video series to find out how professional Google Doodlers approach the creative process.

Imagine: this video focuses on the first stage of the process, where students will generate ideas and ask questions.

Create: In the second stage of the creative process, students will begin to express their ideas through drawing, painting, and more. Create introduces strategies to help students put their creativity into action.

Share and Collaborate: In the third stage of the creative process, students are encouraged to explain their artwork and provide constructive feedback on the creations of others. Students will see how sharing and collaborating can help them refine their vision and make their doodles the best they can be.
